The Roman emperors were the first to enjoy what is today known as the “Blue Grotto”, a spectacular grotto accessible only by sea. History tells us that Emperor Tiberius had a passageway built between his villa and the grotto, which he used as his private pool. Still today, as in the time of the Romans, the grotto and island of Capri attract the rich and famous from all over the world, who come to visit the Faraglioni or enjoy drinks in the legendary Piazzetta.
